101 NORTH 14TH STREET LINCOLN NE

Described as a casual bar with a little something in it for everybody, 1867 is fairly new to Lincoln. Since its opening in 2016, 1867 has been a go-to venue for all things hard rock and metal.

BANDS.

THE REGULARS.

1867 has some strong punk roots. Some of the bands who frequent 1867 are Domestica, Misfire, and Night Push. They primarily showcase local bands and have shows at least 2 or 3 times a week.

As for more well-known bands, they recently had Psycho Stick come perform. They are working on getting Smile Empty Soul come play since many bands from the 2000's are rising in popularity.

Kelsey Marie Sanders, the owner of 1867, has some high hopes for the venue's future. Since the bar's opening in 2016, Sanders as made 1867 a hub for all things hard rock and metal. She's made the bar's personality casual and fun, allowing dogs in and having games available like Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo, NES, Pinball, and more. They even host events like Mario Kart Tournaments.

As for the future of 1867, Sanders would like to expand their gigs to feature more than just primarily local bands, with the hopes to get Smile Empty Soul to play for the bar's four year anniversary.

AND HER VISIONS.

PUNK SCENE.

FROM 1867's PERSPECTIVE.

Not only does 1867 host a lot of harder-rock bands because of personal preference, they also find that the crowds are amazing. Breaking the stereotype of rowdy, disrespecting people, 1867 finds that the punks coming to their shows are super kind and respectful.

1867 sees the Lincoln punk scene as a giant community and family where everybody gets along, and that it has always been that way.
